finnews.id – More Than 3 Million Pages of Epstein Files Released for Public
The U.S. Justice Department announced it is publicly releasing over 3 million pages of documents tied to the investigation of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. These include emails, court records, interview transcripts, and other investigative material.
In addition to the pages of documents, the release also includes more than 2,000 videos and roughly 180,000 images connected with the case.
The total amount released by Jan. 30, 2026 is about 3.5 million items after including batches released earlier this year.
The release is being made under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a law passed by Congress and signed in late 2025, which required the DOJ to disclose all unclassified government files related to Epstein by a set deadline.
The department missed the original Dec. 19, 2025 deadline because of the sheer volume of material and the need to redact personally identifying information to protect survivors.
DOJ officials, including Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, have said that some material remains withheld or heavily redacted. Sensitive content — especially anything that could identify survivors of abuse or jeopardize ongoing investigations — is excluded from the public release.
Some reports note that about 200,000 pages may remain withheld due to legal privileges, attorney-client confidentiality, or other legal constraints.
Links to a Number of High-Profile Figures
Epstein, a wealthy U.S. financier, died in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking minors. His death was ruled a suicide.
Previous document releases have revealed Epstein’s connections to a number of high-profile figures, ranging from business leaders, academics, and celebrities to politicians, including Trump and former President Bill Clinton. To date, neither has been charged with any criminal wrongdoing.
In one draft email that was also made public, Epstein accused Microsoft founder Bill Gates of being involved in an extramarital relationship. The allegation was firmly denied by the Gates Foundation. Other documents also mention film producer and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch in Epstein’s private correspondence.
